Steve & Lydia Brooks wedding, Bradbourne house, Kent

I was very excited to be photographing a new wedding venue, Bradbourne House, a venue I had considered for my own wedding, one with beautiful grounds and endless photo opportunities.

Having scoped out the venue before, as we always do, I knew exactly where I wanted to take my shots. I was particularly looking forward to using one of the rooms inside the house, which had tall dark wood windows, perfect for shots of the bride. And not to mention the lake, bridge, waterfall and blossom trees, a photographers dream.

The wedding day arrived and after what seemed like a string of bad luck with suits not fitting, bride and myself stuck in traffic, the car carrying the bridesmaids breaking down and then arriving by police car, minus one bridesmaid, I was starting to panic. But running an hour late, the wedding finally got underway and it turned out to be a fantastic day.

Lydia's dress hung beautifully for some elegant bridal shots, lit by the window in my favourite room. Steve was beaming all day, clearly enjoying himself and a joy to photograph.

The rain held off and the sun came out to make for a beautiful early evening light, my favourite time to photograph, and we got some stunning shots.

I thoroughly enjoyed photographing Steve and Lydia at this wonderful venue and I hope to photograph more weddings here.

Below are a few shots to tell the story of Steve & Lydia Brooks fairytale wedding.
